FULTON — For two days, the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi (NHBP) will welcome the public to the Pine Creek Indian Reservation to share in a celebration of Bodéwadmi (Potawatomi) culture.
NHBP’s annual Pow Wow is set for June 20-21, with this year’s gathering centered on the theme, “Honoring Our Elders.”
Open to everyone and free to attend, the event will feature singing, dancing, competitive dance, Indigenous crafts, traditional foods and opportunities for community connection.

NHBP is a federally recognized tribal nation with more than 1,700 enrolled tribal members. The tribe gained federal recognition in 1995 and is headquartered on the Pine Creek Indian Reservation near Fulton, with additional offices in Grand Rapids.
The Potawatomi people have long been connected to lands throughout the Great Lakes region, including Michigan. NHBP says its culture includes traditional dances, drumming, songs and teachings, while the tribal nation serves members through its government, programs and services.
This year’s theme, “Honoring Our Elders,” reflects NHBP’s emphasis on listening to elders and respecting their knowledge.
The event also includes activities honoring veterans, along with a hand drum contest, Native arts and crafts vendors, traditional foods and other cultural activities throughout the weekend.
Grand Entry sessions are scheduled for 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday.
