Calhoun County Senior Services honors centenarians

Calhoun County Senior Services celebrated residents age 100 and older July 16 at Marshall United Methodist Church, recognizing 10 new centenarians during a reception featuring music, memories and storytelling. Each year since 2021, Senior Services staff and Senior Millage Allocation Committee members have interviewed local centenarians for an online project now featuring 85 residents and 85 unique stories.
Willard Library Helen Warner Branch to begin expansion

A nearly 3,300-square-foot addition at the Helen Warner Branch will add a larger programming room, a permanent home for the Joanne TenBrink Creative Space, three small meeting rooms and a dedicated children’s area. The branch will remain open during construction, which is expected to be completed in 2027.

M-66 and M-37 resurfacing starts Aug. 3 in Battle Creek

MDOT will resurface M-66 from Beckley Road/B Drive North to S Drive South and M-37/I-94 Business Loop from I-94 to Helmer Road. The $1.4 million project covers 10.4 miles and will require single- and double-lane closures through Sept. 15.
