On M-37/Bedford Road for years there was a road sign with the hand-painted words, Michael Loves Shannon. Then, a commercial billboard was erected in its place, and the community noticed the words went away. KCC designers brought the message back with a new design this March.

Early in-person voting begins on Saturday, July 25, ahead of the primary election on Tuesday, Aug. 4. There are two locations for early in-person voting depending on the municipality in which a voter is registered. Residents of the cities of Battle Creek and Springfield, as well as Bedford and Pennfield Townships can vote early at the Kool Family Community Center. Harper Creek proposes $28M bond for August election

Harper Creek Community Schools will have a $28 million bond proposal on ballots during the August primary. The $28 million bond would be used for a variety of projects, including adding four classrooms to each elementary school and concerting the pool at the middle school into a classroom.
