Beneath Albion: Sewer Study Reveals Scope of Aging System and Cost of Repairs

Recent engineering assessments that examined 110,000 of pipe in the City of Albion’s sanitary sewer system found that roughly 44,000 feet of pipe are in need of replacement or repair. Albion City Council unanimously approved a resolution to establish a Clean Water State Revolving Fund, which will help finance infrastructure improvements.

Calhoun County renames Justice Center to honor first female Michigan Supreme Court Justice

Calhoun County’s Justice Center will now be named the Mary S. Coleman Justice Center of Calhoun County, named after the first woman elected to the Michigan Supreme Court. In Calhoun, she served as probate and juvenile judge, and in 1972 was elected to the Michigan Supreme Court.
